Class cost: $65

COVID-19 Update on May 29:

Dominion has suspended classes due to COVID-19. When it becomes safe to meet in groups of up to 30 over eight hours, classes will resume.

While a tentative schedule posted on our calendar page shows classes beginning in mid-July, we will remain flexible depending on how the situation evolves. We are not taking online payment at this time. If you wish to sign up for a class, you can email us at

Please feel free to contact us for more information or if you have any questions.

We’re grateful for your understanding.

Our program is designed to add to the driving knowledge you already have.

You will learn defensive techniques and evaluate your driving goals and habits. Best driving practices are reviewed including the most common driver errors, how to become more aware of the conditions around you, and the consequences of the many types of impaired driving.

We will consider risk factors that particularly affect Virginia drivers including aggression, hazard monitoring, and fatigue.

This driver improvement clinic is the right class for those who:

  • are directed by DMV to complete an 8-hour driver improvement program.

  • are required or recommended by the court to complete a clinic.

  • want to earn 5 safe driving points.

  • would like to reduce insurance premiums.

  • want to take a class prior to a court date.

Dominion Driver Improvement is licensed by the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles and offers the National Safety Council’s Defensive Driving Course, which has set the standard for driver improvement training since its introduction in 1964. This Defensive Driving Course has the highest rate in reducing the number and severity of collisions and their related costs.

Our clinic is fully licensed by the  Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles and is accepted by Virginia courts.

Dominion is proud to be recognized at a national level as an award winning program by the National Safety Council in 2014 through 2018.
